This is an exciting new introductory league for anyone who has curled for less than 5 years.
This is a great starting point for anyone who wants to meet new people and try a curling league without committing to a full season. The games are nice and short, to focus more on the fun and social aspects of the sport.
SCHEDULE January 30th - March 20th 2025
ELIGIBILITY Open to members or non-members, 18 years or older, who have curled for less than five years. Players will sign-up individually. Weekly play will be limited to 64 players, so drop-in availability will be based on the number of spots remaining after those who have registered for the full 8-week session.
FORMAT Games will be 60-min or 4-ends, whichever comes first. The 4th end must be started by 10:35 pm. Games will start at 9:45 pm, immediately following the Thursday Lifestyle League - Open Team. Teams will be made each week to give everyone a chance to meet more people and you will get to experience and learn about each position. Individuals will be permitted to identify "one" player that they would like to be paired with for the entire session.
COMMITMENT For this league only, you can commit to as much or as little as you want. There will be two separate 8-week sessions (Fall and Winter), so you can register for both sessions, one session, or just drop in on the weeks that you are available. Registration will be $100 for a full 8-week session ($12.50 per week), or $15 per week for drop-in play. If you are planning to participate as a drop-in, please indicate as such in the discount section that follows and then you can pay the $15 weekly fee at the bar when you arrive each week.
SAFETY AND ETIQUETTE Players will be given some direction before starting on safety and etiquette to ensure that everyone has an enjoyable experience. The club will provide brooms, sliders (to help with stone delivery) and grippers (goes over your shoe to prevent falling) to those who don't have them.
